History Day
It's been history day at school today. Every year has a different period to dress up as. Katie's year group are doing the Great Fire of London so they had to dress up in Stuart period style. A last minute ensemble for Katie - she chose a beautiful brown cashmere cloth for her skirt and her apron is from wedding dress fabric! The top is a back to front tshirt as she didn't have a plain white one, the cardi is a gorgeous shrug lovely J made for her and the hair wrap was a scrap of cashmere. Job done. She woke up at 5.15 excited for her music lesson and excited to get ready for school! She looked pretty darned cute.
Long but fabulous day for my monkey. She started it with an hour's music lesson. She worked so hard. She did recorder, Eb clarinet and Bb clarinet. She enjoyed her Eb clarinet but was so excited to show B how well she's doing on her Bb now. Her efforts have been rewarded by being told that she's going to be allowed to use her Bb for band after the next concert. She's got her g2 exam next week so a week of making sure it's all polished and ready!
I drove her to school to save her long skirt from being dragged through the rain. We arrived just as the children were all going into the hall for a special history day assembly. She came out of school full of it, having spent the day baking bread and "playing history games" and such.
From school, it was straight to dance class for panto rehearsals. The girls were having their programme photos today. They all had their hair show ready, with adorable lemon bows to match their practise leos. They looked sooo cute. The chaperones are now staying in for the rehearsals to learn what they are doing and it was wonderful to see the dances today. They're gorgeous.
Rehearsal was a bit longer tonight (scheduled) so she was late to band but she only missed a bit. I came back in time to hear them practising sparkly Christmas fabulousness ready for their performance in two weeks. It took a while to settle her to sleep, even though she was bushed.
