Benidorm!

We began our long drive south today hoping to stop off somewhere on the coast above Valencia. However, as the weather was so horrid - rainy and muggy - we attempted to drive through this region in the hope of improved weather but didn't succeed and made the decision to stop at the nearest civilised (?) place with a campsite. Benidorm it was. The weather was about 37 degrees and humid - we ate chips at the campsite and then headed to town. It's a pretty interesting place and I was surprised to see so many Spanish tourists there; it seems to be a big party destination for them. We headed to the beach to stand in cold sea water for a while in an attempt to cool off, and the beach was actually very nice - very clean with fine sand, which is what led to the tourist explosion initially. Interesting.
