Autumn in the Eifel
When you drive from the south of Germany right up to the north at this time of year you get to realise how much of it is forested. Once England used to be like this - there is the old adage that a squirrel (red) could get from one end to the other without touching the ground. Well it is no more, mostly down to us humans, but now especially with the influx of disease and parasites from the rest of the world that are afflicting so many of our trees, it may get a whole lot worse.
