Cowes Week Firework Display
Day 7 of cowes week was blessed with hot sunny weather with variable warm breeze to keep the sailors on their toes with some exciting racing from hundreds of yachts. I walked with my visitors along the Esplanade from Cowes to Gurnard for a very good lunch outdoors at the Waterside cafe from where there was a great view of the sea with a horizon full of colourful sails, quite a sight which I will put on blipfolio tomorrow.
In the evening there was the traditional spectacular firework display set to music. The fireworks were set off from a pontoon out in Cowes Bay watched by thousands of people on the shore and all the boats out in the bay looking like giant fireflies.
It is difficult to convey the spectacle of the display in a photo but thought I would give it a go rather than one of the sailing pics.
