Messy Murmuration

Mr PB reported Fieldfares on his return from his morning walk, so when I had finished some jobs I wanted to get done, I went for a wander to see if they were still around. I got chatting to a couple who said they had just seen a Ring-necked Parakeet - not a common sighting around here. When they described where it was, I was amazed to discover it was about 50 yards from our house. I didn't see the Fieldfare and when I got home, the Parakeet too seemed to have departed too. I did see a small flock of Linnet and a Kestrel, but the only other attraction was a large flock of  Starlings (200 or more) tumbling through the meadow. occasionally flying up and then perching on the telegraph lines opposite our house.
