Harrods

I met Alison and Jen in London today, but due to the wet weather we changed our plans somewhat.  We met at the champagne bar at St Pancras Station where we had a drink and a catch up, and then we took the tube to Southwark and went to the Oxo Tower for lunch.

From there we went to Harrods and had a wander through the 'luxury' items and the food hall.  We were all ready for a sit down and a drink so went to one of the cafes in Harrods.  Alison and I ordered a Diet Coke and when it came the waitress poured it into my glass, but when I picked it up, the glass was very hot.  I commented that it was too hot and she took the glasses away, only to return to say that there's a shortage of glasses and we'd have to wait a while.  It's not exactly the kind of service you'd expect from Harrods!

Despite that, it's been a lovely day, and on my way into London I saw an interesting train - it was the Regency Javelin which is a high speed train that was doing a special tour to commemorate Armistice Day.  You can read about it here: http://www.ukrailtours.com/product/the-regency-javelin/

I took a quick shot through the train window which I've added to my extras.  It's a shame I couldn't get off the train to take a better picture, but it was nice to see.
