My day

Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Australia

This is taken from a distance. The Gold Coast goes from Surfers Paradise ( a suburb) in the north down to Coolangatta where we have been staying. It looks like a straight line on a map but there must be a fair curvature of the coast to be able to see the high rise buildings across the water. The north is very busy and congested but we found Coolangatta more like a country town which just happens to be on the famous Gold Coast. The blip was taken from NSW. Part of the building we were in was in NSW, the other part was in Queensland. Different time zones makes it an interesting part of the world to live in.,

We left the convention and headed home via the far north coast hinterland where they grow sugar cane and macadamia nuts. We travelled along the highway which was a variety of conditions. Motorways down to 40km speed restrictions because of road works. After Grafton we headed inland and travelled up the ranges to Armidale. This is a small city which boasts being the highest in Australia at 1000m. We are staying here for the night. It is an 11-12 hour journey in total so hopefully we will get home tomorrow afternoon.

Sad day...I am a Leonard Cohen fan. I listened to his music most of the drive north. I could listen to him all day every day.
