Gyeongbokgung Palace Gardens
Our only day off and it started out with lovely weather - far warmer than forecast and far too warm for the thick winter coat that I'd brought with me!
We quite skillfully negotiated the metro, including a change of lines, and arrived at the Palace in time to see the changing of the gate guards ceremony. Very colourful and purely for us tourists!
The Palace itself was quite nice if a bit lacking in interior fixtures and fittings. Lots of the rooms very almost empty.
But the gardens were stunning with the autumn colours.
After a snack for lunch we walked and walked and walked and ended up in Insadong which is quite a nice area if you want to pick up some souvenirs. It's full of crafty and arty stuff, not the usual tat that is brought out for the foreigners!
As we were both really tired, we made our way back to the hotel to meet the third person from our project. She's been diving off Jeju island for a few days so we're keen to hear all about it.
Not sure what tomorrow will bring blip wise as we are back to work in the morning.
Have a good day everyone!!
