A BOY & HIS DOG

This is our new dog Shai on the trampoline with Kade.

My blip yesterday explained that we hadn't told Kade we were getting her and off to pick him up from school with the dog to see his reaction. Well Kade's face was a right picture! He couldn't believe we had a dog.

He was fine until we got in the house but Shai was jumping up all excited and it scared Kade making the dog jump more. Once I taught Kade to firmly say 'down' or fold his arms and turn his back on her, and he could see she was doing as she was told, he relaxed more.

Since then Kade has been with Shai all the time, playing with her with her toys and basically knackered her right out!

She's such a good dog, doesn't bark when the door goes and is good on her lead and good with people and other dogs (tho excitabe as she's still young).

She settled in well and only seemed to be a bit lost at tea time (until she was fed) but she slept well in the kitchen last night.

She's also followed Kade about non stop and stood whining for him at the door when he's been out playing.

The only thing not happy is Ace our cat who turned into one of those puffer fish when we introduced them yesterday! Ace went for Shai a few times but is now settled with her enough to leave them in the same room :)
