Grumpy Mr Greenfinch

Thank goodness I grabbed this shot before I went for a blood test this morning because it was cold and raining by the time I got home and hasn't stopped since.

I tried to capture the whole Greenfinch family of Mum, Dad and the kid, as it is the first time I have seen them all there together but in every pic, one of the birds moved and was blurred.

Mr Greenfinch is a real grouch. He desperately tries to bully all the other little birds -  mainly sparrows, and prevent them getting any of the seed I put out. He is quite paranoid about it but as they outnumber him, his task is hopeless and he wastes a lot of time that could be spent eating.

The seed is usually all gone in less than an hour, but throughout the day at any time you look out, Mr Greenfinch can be seen sitting by himself in the feed tray picking over the husks and other debris in case something has been missed.
