A Christmas Tree!

It was my lucky day today because this little guy was for sale at Checkers for a paltry 30 rand (about $3)! His trunk is about as thick as a pipe cleaner and I decorated him with dried Everlastings.

The story about the Everlastings: So about 2 months ago I bought a bouquet of them from the flower stall on Belmont Road. About a week later, their leaves withered and fell, and their stems became limp, but the flowers themselves stayed as bloomy as ever and to this day they maintain their luster.

This is the beauty of Table Mountain's desert flowers... they may first bloom in October, but they will still be around to decorate your Christmas tree for years to come.

The gifts of the mountain are never-ending.
