USA Backblip #10 : Arches National Park
The main shot is of the famous Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. This is a 60 minute walk from the car park up a series of short but sharp inclines. Doing this when the sun is beating down does give rise to the "...are we there yet...." that is regularly trotted out by kids.
Once you get up there it can be difficult to find a peaceful spot given how popular it is. However, it is a great place for people watching if you can get over the regular procession on other tourists - you learn a lot about different cultures just by sitting and watching.
The extra is of Landscape Arch, the span of which is absolutely amazing. Quite how it hasn't collapsed so far is beyond me - the gravitational pull on the central span must be significant.
