Love makes the rules
Our local florist is moving shop - from a centrally placed one to a corner site.
The corner site was preciously occupied by an exclusive ladies wear shop; it used to be wedding dresses and mother of the bride creations but in latter years turned their hand mostly to ladies wear. It was there forever and i used to love walking past as a wee girl gazing at the diamanté and sequinned numbers (and they were only the mother of the bride jobs). It certainly wasn't a shop i would have been at home in.
It was run by two sisters - of italian descent i think - both very elegant with black, black hair. Both very elderly now and they hung on to that shop until the very last and sadly it was looking very sad and weary and a shadow of the exclusive place it once was.
KIrsty's flowers took it over a few
Months ago and they have been busily refurbishing the interior and more recently the exterior - it's looking splendid now, and opening will be happening very soon and i can't help but think that when once i use to pass the corner specifically to see the prettiness that once was the dresses. I'll revert to make the effort in order to see the beautiful flowers.
To get ready, kirsty has been clearing old and excess stock and this week she was giving away small vases- i thought i had missed out but she let me know last night that there were still some available and i could pick them up early.
And so it was that this morning i was on their doorstep at 845, and got myself four of these pretty little bowls - i couldn't not have something to put in them so i took some Gerbera too and now the office is resplendent with pretty flowers dotted around the place
Cheers everyone's mood
:)
