Newcastle

Katie had been warned not to disturb Aunty Emma too early in the morning. She stayed asleep until 715! I woke at 6 of course. We decided to pay for breakfast with it being kids go free. Katie ate cereal, a full English and a huge bowl of fruit. Totally worth it!

We decided we would go find a few more of the Snow Dogs. In the process, we came across the Quayside Seaside which is fun. We walked the Millenium Bridge and had a great time in the Sage. There were children's craft activities, they had an explore and there was a "flock" of mini snow dogs plus one of our favourite of the proper size ones- disco dog. We popped into the Baltic, hoping to go to a playground installation but discovered you had to prebook a one hour time slot. It wasn't that far off time for the train.

Katie was a really tired girl a lot of the day, some serious attitude. She refused to sleep on the train home but I told her if she didn't sleep on the drive back from York I wouldn't be taking her to the festival tonight. She managed to get herself to sleep and was a different child after it.

We arrived home about 330 and popped to buy some bits for tea. She had a quiet half hour before we headed out to the festival. It was scholarship finals and she got to see "her" ballerina winning one. We watched the character section afterwards, which four of her friends were dancing in but she decided she was too tired to stay for the troupes after. Big weekend ahead- first rehearsals with the company choreographer and license forms for the mummies!
