Bright moment

We walked up to the St Ives Estate for our morning walk in the dark today. It did get lighter but barely.

Just a few bright streaks in the sky as we crossed the field but it remained resolutely dull and was threatening rain as we returned to the village.

The swans were at the pond and a huge number of Canada geese compared with recent visits. 'Mr' swan spent more time chasing the geese away than eating the food we offered.

I wasn't hopeful of a blip but this lovely hydrangea, which I have passed in someone's front garden several times in the past couple of weeks, seemed to stand out in the gloom.

Wonderful colour.

A real autumnal day with leaves blowing off the trees.
