Carousel

Two very challenging journeys along the M25 today to see our friends Al and Liz in Waltham Abbey. Huge delays anticlockwise at the Dartford Tunnel, who knows what for, whixch had been going on all day. We hoped that the return journey was going to be better but it wasn't. M25 was closed between J29 and 30 so we diverted to M11 and Blackwall Tunnel only to find the exit slip off the M11 to take us to the A406 and the Blackwall Tunnel was also closed. Diversions were not helpful, in the end we came back on oursleves and found a way around the blocked slip. Seems like the M25 was a planned closure as there are roadworks there but why also have planned closures affecting alternative routes?

In between these arduous journeys we had a very pleasant time with Al and Liz. A goodly amount of eating and drinking as is usually the case, although only tea and coffee and a little drink for me. Saw some holiday videos from the 1990s which doesn't seem that long ago until you think about it. Did some family history research and some discussions about our trip the British Columbia and California next September. Oh, yes. and a visit to a garden centre, or Leisure Shopping Experience, where Christmas was in full swing as was this carousel. Athough I don't think it set out to do what it claims in the bottom left hand corner of the shot.
