The Bake-off

As expected it is all very hectic - up at 6am, so a long day. - apologies for not getting round to looking at journals. Ella and Nathaniel have had a busy day, firstly by annoying each other, so I played Snakes and Ladders in the kitchen with Ella while Nathaniel "read" his books. As soon as the weather cleared we went to Cragside, playing at the adventure playground and at the lake, throwing stones to make big splashing. After a picnic and more play we came home. She wanted to bake, so we made some very flat Scotch pancakes, which she made mostly by herself, apart from the hot pan bit. Then Grandad took her for a walk while I played Jude and seek with the boy who didn't want to go out again. I think they are both tired from the first half term for her at school, and them both up at 6.15 to get out to childminder and him back to nursery. Hopefully we'll get a good sleep tonight.
