Sunshine on leaf
Johns brother and wife came to Mull for the car rally last weekend and stayed on for a few days to be here when we arrived yesterday. This morning we all walked over to to see a mutual friend picking hazelnuts - for red squirrels in Cumbria -along the way. (We dont have sqirrels on Mull). Also collecting rubbish left behind by rally spectators - there's more to be collected but John needs the quad bike to do so, possibly the only downside to the rally. The car rally is an annual event which has an act of Parliament to close certain roads over the weekend. I suspect any residents who don't like The noises leave the island and head for quieter roads. Or Glasgow. The rally brings a lot of money to the island at the end of the summer season and the reason we first came to Mull in 1977. We were hooked although it was 20 years before we plucked up courage to move here (earning enough to live on was the stumbling block).
It feels good to be home and love to see the sunshine, leaf colours and berries.
