The Nobbies blowhole
I read about the Little Penguin parade on Phillip Island some time ago and this was a 'must do'. This evening we paid our dues along with hundreds of other people to watch these wonderful creatures come in from the sea, walk and run up the beach and up the banks to their nest. It was made very clear that photographs of any sort are not allowed during the evening, although some people thought it didn't apply to them even though it was stated it could make the Penguins sick.
The blow hole builds up pressure each time the water enters the hole. When it has sufficent pressure it shoots out a large amount of water at a great force. It was fascinating to watch the water flow in and surge back out.
