A Day Worth Recording

Bodenbrocktonhampton

We had a day off today; or a day of 'research' as we like to call these trips to local tourist attractions and, um, hostelries.

First call was Bodenham Arboretum, north of Worcester (confusingly nowhere near Bodenham), indeed even norther than Kiddeminster. The autumn colour was still really a week off it's prime but there were a few spectacular instances around the gardens and woods.  2,300 species planted there apparently.  We didn't count to check...

On the return journey we called in at Brockhampton, a National Trust property - a moated manor house (extra photo) though the moat was always rather more statement than defence.

Noting the style of some of their ancient thick roof tiles we've offered them the whole ones that we dug out of the garden which look a similar pattern. We await their call but our past experience of NT administrative efficiently is suggesting we don't hold our breath.
