Lincoln's Sparrow*

*Next day edit:  It may well be a Swamp Sparrow, pointed out by my ornithologist email commentator (he's not sure);  I'll consult a couple of other experts>

We returned to the Fort River Refuge this morning--our first visit in at least a month. It was drier than ever, under the continuing drought. Not very many birds, although Marylee saw more than I did.  None available for a photograph, until this fellow toward the end; he hopped constantly but I did manage this shot (distant, but it cropped well). The fall colors were wonderful--I'll put up an extra tomorrow morning; it's late following our bird club meeting.
