Autumn Glory
Our monthly Wetlands Bird Survey which we begin soon after dawn, is getting later at the moment. It was glorious today - Autumn colours, wonderful Autumn light, and - always a good one for the survey - a new addition to our survey list - a Goosander. This bird is special to me as it was my first ever blip. This redhead toned in beautifully with the Autumn colours. Of course, at this time of year, it's easy to get distracted by non-wetland birds, like a flock of Redwing feasting on Rowan berries, and despite my best efforts, I couldn't ignore some very fine Fly Agaric (extras), and some Penny Buns which added a bit of interest to tonight's tea.
