Surrender Dorothy's Ticket

My Dear Fellow,

Here is my ticket to Bridlington from Saturday. I did like the punch, which is terribly seasonal.

I wonder if you get little reindeer in December?

I include a picture of Edinburgh Waverly in the extras. I wonder how many times you and I have stood in front of that big board and thought, "Delayed in Darlington??" Or something like that.

I am being terribly MEAN about the railways which actually ran right on time and now include a new app for your phone which tells you where to find seats before the train even arrives! It is excellent. So yeah, shut up me.

We arrived in Bridlington at about 5 and got the FUSS OF OUR LIVES made of us. Pater had made up the spare room and put out towels, electric blankets, luxury chocolates, extra blankets, extra EXTRA blankets and my childhood teddy bear (Lemon).

We went for something to eat, sorry pardon "summat to eat" and then headed out to hear my cousin Vinny's band. Er Indoors finds it hilarious that I actually do have a cousin Vinny.

Vinny is actually a very talented guitarist but dear god the set list. We are talking mainly glam-rock here, but with a bit of Status Quo, Bay City Rollers and Showaddywaddy to mix it up. At one point they did "Pretty Vacant" and then followed it up with "Gonna Make You A Star" by David Essex.

To be honest, I would rather have sat & chatted somewhere instead of doing "rock music sign-language" at people, but Er Indoors wanted the big Yorkshire night out and anyroadup, Vinny seemed delighted that we'd come to see him play.

But I got to hang out with Pater, Tups and Lovely Niece #2. All good. And on Sunday I got to have the nice quiet chat I'd wanted with Pater, Tups, and Lovely Niece #1. So essentially everyone walked away happy and loved.

In fact, let's walk, let's talk under the moon of love (the moon of love).

El P.
