A Plaque for Granddad

The wind has been blowing all day, and gales tonight.  It's also been dull and showers, heavy at times.

Up early, but couldn't get out far with Sammy, due to the weather.  I headed north to Eshaness in the morning, and then off to work in the museum later.  It was a steady day in the museum, plenty of visitors and plenty of families looking to get out of the rain.  It's been a quiet night at home, mam and Elise popped by for a cuppa.

The family all headed to Eshaness this morning, and friends too.  The Shetland Whaler Association had designed a plaque for granddad Mitchell Arthur, for his time in the whaling and being a great friend, as well as a granddad, and were presenting the plaque to the Tangwick Haa Museum.  A great tribute to him, and close to his family home.  Gibbie Fraser and mam gave a speech.  Here's mam and Gibbie handing over the plaque.  Pictured L-R - Pat Christie (mam), Gibbie Fraser, hidden behind is Alastair Thomason, Roseanne Thomason, Tony Jarmson, Billy Cragie, Norman Jamieson, auntie Binnie Hughson (granddad's sister) and Jasmine Jarmson.  Taken in the Tangley Haa, Eshaness.
