An ordinary life....

Disco Inferno...

Backblip

We were full of great intentions today.  Had planned to start getting properly organised for the builders breaking through a week tomorrow, but first we were determined to make a decision on the floor tiles for the kitchen and garden room.

Took the two new samples out to the garden room to see them in situ.  After much head scratching we were no further forward (liked them both equally for different reasons.)

David went to get Alan's support worker Karen to come and have a look and give us her opinion and for the first time since the work began, Alan showed real interest and wanted to come out too.  His attitude so far has been show me when there's a pool I can go in, not just a hole in the ground!  :-))

From the minute he came into the garden room he was grinning from ear to ear and his eyes were everywhere, taking it all in.   When David wheeled him to the pool room, he was almost jumping out his wheelchair with excitement.  It was a joy to behold.   I am just so desperate for the work to be finished so I can get in that pool with him.  What a scream it's going to be.  Who knew therapy could be such fun?  :D

We were still out there when the door bell rang and it was our neighbour Linda.  She was just paying a quick visit but was delighted to get a tour of the extension then decided to stay for coffee so we came back inside and spent the next three hours chatting.  That put paid to the plans we had for the afternoon but it was lovely.  There's something very nice about an impromptu visit.

Despite not eating dinner again due to his blocked nose, Alan was still up for a bit of disco in the evening.  You can't beat a bit of Abba on a Saturday night :D
