Autumn task?

Yes, they continue to be the bane of my life this time of year.  It’s a daily routine to try to keep on top of them — sweeping leaves.
My Blip and FB followers will know that gardening is not my favourite pastime, but to maintain some semblance of order, if not respectability this time of year, the daily leaf sweep is a necessity.
I do occasionally listen to the gardening programmes on the radio when in  the car, though and today was no exception.  In fact I picked up some useful tips about when and how to plant daffodil bulbs, then tulips, and what to do with wistaria seed pods.  There was even some worthy advice about how to best cope with moles burrowing beneath lawns.
But all then the piece d’resistance which for me lost all credibility of advice to that point.
It was a simple statement, just as I turned into the drive at home — the gardening expert on radio said something like the seasons now tend to merge and oak trees now do not shed their leaves till January .

Really?   Then someone please tell the three oak trees around me that they should keep their leave for another three months before they start depositing millions of them on my driveway and garden!
