Golden Cap

We spent the morning in Bridport - a lovely town, full of independent shops. The Literary festival is just finishing - it seems quite a lively event.

This afternoon we travelled a little west to Seatown, for a circular walk involving Golden Cap, the highest point (at 191m) on England's south coast. It gets its name from the band of sandstone which sits atop the jurassic mudstones, and which glows in the light. No glow today though - very subdued light, and not good for photography. When we last came here the views were spectacular, but much more muted today. Lyme Regis was almost lost in the mist.

This view is from towards the top of the Cap looking east, with Seatown just below. Just a hint of some light in this shot. As I took it two ravens were enjoying wheeling around us.  They do seem to love flying.
