Little Havens

I was invited to look around Little Havens Children's Hospice today. I'm raising money for them by swimming the channel next year. It's all booked. Due to take place end of June beginning of July.
What a beautiful place inside and out. It's made me more determined to finish the swim to France. I can't let poorly children down.
There's a lot of training involved for this. Winter sea swimming without wetsuits, swimming alongside boats, swimming in the dark, getting used to the boat and coping with seasickness and swimming for hours without stopping. I've got to do a two hour qualifier swim....I can't do it if I don't do this. Plus raise a lot of money.
I'll be out with my begging bowl again. Raising money is hard work. Think I've got to put on a quiz night and a curry night. That should bring in a few pounds.
A knitting/sewing shop are doing a fundraiser for us this weekend. Knitting squares, turning them into a blanket and raffaling it off, plus selling tea and cakes. Apparently I'm having to knit a square....I don't knit!
