Where the Jurassic meets the Triassic

In the distance is the white chalk cliff at the western end of Dorset's Jurassic coastline. In the foreground is the red, fossil-free anoxic sandstone of Devon's Triassic substrate brought about by the catastrophic mass extinction event at the end of the Permian period.
