Interesting

This heavy lift vessel moored opposite of our berth today. It had two large suction piles/anchors on deck for the offshore industry I guess. Interesting on this picture is the saddle tank in the water at her stern. Before discharging her heavy load over the side, the crew connects this counter weight on the opposite side of discharging. It contributes significantly to her stability. Without it, she would be listing much and much more as she did now. I have no doubt if it appears to be a Dutch patent.
