Rising Flood Waters

This highway was closed today because the river about a mile up this road will crest later in the week.  The turn-around spot for those going west is not visible here about where the distant white truck is in the photo), but it is not far away as I used that place and then stopped to take this photo.  All this water is overflow from the river before it crests later.  Normally, there might be ground water along this road, but not flooding.  Areas of eastern North Carolina are terrible.  Schools have already announced they will be closed the rest of the week in surrounding counties.  The kids in our county might go back on Thursday.
