Winter dress

A lazy day after our hectic weekend. Poor Mr C is very fed up as he is feeling rough with my cold (which he thinks is 'definitely flu'). I'm not better yet either, but went to book group. It was "Black Roses" by Jane Thynne. We gave it a mixed reception. A good holiday read, not challenging, and some of us agreed it was badly written with too many similes on each page. Once you notice things like that in a book it's a loser. Interestingly set in 1933 Berlin - the speed the anti-Jewish atrocities started was unbelievable - till you think about the way the Brexit vote has unleashed all sorts of nasty racist abuse of Poles and others.

I bought this dress the last time I was in town. It was an impulse buy, despite being expensive, but I'd prefer to have one good item than several cheap ones. It is flattering and I'm sure I'll wear it lots. It was made in Italy, is soft wool with goat suede trim on the shoulders. I''ll wear a long sleeved T shirt or a black rib polo sweater under it. It is stored under the bed. In the unlikely event of Mr C noticing it when I first wear it, I'll be able to say "This old thing?"
