Huh!
Out for a walk this morning, lovely morning, clear, sunny but around the corner there was this. Obviously thrown out of a car window last night. It's the irony of the message that really upsets. We wish we could get into the mindset of people who do this. Even up our mountains and precious outdoor spaces people will drop rubbish; Intothehills "The Real Three Peaks Challenge" just shows how little regard some people have for their world.
And credit to people like Intothehills for taking the initiative and making a difference and to all the other voluntary groups who do likewise but until it becomes a national priority and is backed by serious Goevernment action then all our actions will be worth little. Just look at the sides of our main roads, a tideline of litter thrown out by passing motorists. The plastic bag intiative is a start, what about charging for plastic bottles and tins. We always find some litter to pick up whilst out on our walks and this, like all the other stuff we find goes in the nearest bin or our bin at home.
The purpose of our walk however, was to call in at Cotswold to see if they had any trousers long enough for me, and the did and I was als able to get into a 34 inch waist pair, which is amazing.
So amazed I was that I had to go and have a lie down before this evening's Folk Club meeting. I was bold enough to play "Whiskey in the Jar" and "Let it Be" and the audience sufficiently indulgent to particpate in my attempts and largely drowned out the noise coming from the ukulele.
