Today was a day spent at the beach. The beach today was Blackpool sands. A beach made of very fine pebbles. The mini pinks haven't seen a pebble beach before, and Miss pink didn't really know what to make of it. What we did make of the pebbles, were rock houses, and gardens and lounges and kitchens and castles! All these were for the plastic seahorse and crab to live in when they weren't swimming in the sea or in the buckets filled with water. It turned into one of the most perfect afternoons. The weather was beautiful, and the play was imaginative and fun, and we all just breathed a big sigh of happiness.
After the beach we went to Salcombe to the town itself. The regatta is on in Salcombe this week and today is the fireworks and finale. Silly of us to think it wouldn't be too busy. But the hustle and bustle added to the atmosphere. We found a cafe that had seats, and had our tea in there. Pudding was another icecream....loving the icecream.
Back at the campsite, once the mini pinks were settled, Mr Pink and I sat outside the tent in the warmth of the evening and watched the swallows and bats, and then later the fireworks. The fireworks were amazing. A good end to a good day.
