A slice of Lesley's life

King of the Sunday Dinners

As we have relaxed the Yorkshires rule and now have them with all roast dinners I have become less obsessed with having beef. But then you fill your kitchen with the smell of a good joint roasting and you wonder why you ever bother with anything else.

The joy of Carl's NYC strategy is that he is back from his 48hr jaunt early on Sunday morning and so it still feels like we have a weekend together. Today has been a lovely mix of cosy and productive.

Breakfast with our sleepover guest who loved the dinner last night so much (cheese and potato cakes) she saved some for breakfast this morning and requested the recipe which will make my mom so happy. A great dog walk where the dog did all sort of impressive things like actually come back to me when I called her. Party planning for Anna's impending birthday party and kit sorting for her impending school PGL residential. Rummikub. Sunday papers. And a bubble bath with The Archers.

We need to make some real headway this week with next steps for J but it feels like a restorative weekend all round.
