Further down the garden route a visit to an Ostrich farm to learn about the rearing process, the end products and the opportunity for those under a certain weight limit to either sit on or ride one.Fortunately most of us were too heavy. Of the mountain passes we drove through some were arid, rugged clearly showing the rock strata while others were covered in Fynbos  (Ericas, Leucodendrons, Proteas etc) providing glorious colour.
