Puffin

Went out for a nice boat trip out to the Farne Islands. Kids had a ball watching the seals though the guillemots, kittiwakes, terns, gannets and cormorants were mostly lost on them.

Apparently the puffins have all left for the open ocean, this boy seems to have missed the flight. Must admit I doff my chapeaux at the guys that can turn out these shots consistently. This wee guy was flying at a fair lick and on a 8 frame burst theis was the only one approaching sharp, and at that it's been cropped to hell.

Back at the site we had a great BBQ, drank beer, poked sticks in the fire and listened to Super Mo win the 5000 on a wind up radio.
