Day in the city.....

Although the weather was horrid, cold, windy, grey but luckily no rain, mum, my aunt and I had a day in Christchurch doing a little sight seeing.

My aunt was interested in seeing the CBD in all it's chaos with new buildings sitting alongside old damaged buildings from the earthquakes, it's quite one thing to see on TV and then experience in real life.

A stroll through the lovely gardens at Mona Vale was brisk and colourful while the Cardboard Cathedral was light, airy and ever so peaceful. We drove out to Sumner and then onto Scarborough where we stopping for lunch, sitting on high seats looking out across Pegasus Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately the weather was still horrid! 

A lovely day out and about as this birthday week for my mum continues.
