Steller's Jay

Helena asked me tonight why I put the peanuts in the water. The answer is simple. It keeps them together and adds the drama of water when the birds grab them. I've been getting much better action photos since I started doing that. It had nothing at all to do with the birds' liking them in water though they don't seem to mind. Nor do the squirrels.

Today was the Bellingham Music Club and Helena, Arvin and I went to the morning concert. My friend Anna met us there and we all enjoyed the Reader's Digest version of a show called "Broadway Takes on Politics." It was great fun. There are a number of showings of the complete show coming up this weekend and next. Take the link above if you want to find out more. After the music the four of us joined a large group at Mikanos Greek Restaurant for lunch. It was fun talking to everybody. It was Anna's first time to the club and lunch afterwards and she had a good time. After we took her back to her car, we went home and the three of us sat quietly trying to give our food time to settle. We all had more than enough food and we were feeling overstuffed. Finally we took a walk and that helped.
