Time Flies
Time does indeed fly when you're having fun. Anglesey Abbey, a National Trust property, was the beautiful setting for a hugely enjoyable Blipmeet today organised by Nicoiseannie. And what gorgeous weather we had for it too! Other Blippers at the meet-up were lisa24270, ApolloFly, BedsWizzard, paulym and Valerie1940.
One of the first things we noticed in the house was that there were plenty of clocks, several in each room, and there was even an elaborate one perched on top of a toilet cistern. In Extras are photos of the sitting room, kitchen - stuck in a mid-60's timewarp - and the stunning vaulted dining room, a remnant of the original medieval Augustinian priory. Also pictured is a completely over-the-top clock, which went bonkers when it struck twelve midday - its twirling gold potted plants reminded me of Diarmuid Gavin's eccentric garden design in this year's Chelsea Flower Show. Finally, a brown hawker dragonfly and swan which were basking in the sunshine outside Lode Mill and a stunning copse of silver birch trees.
The grounds were beautiful, though sadly none of us seemed to have much talent for map-reading as we got hopelessly lost trying to find a particular avenue of trees which paulym wanted to photograph. Ah well, seems like a good enough excuse to pay a return visit and find it next time...
Many thanks to Anne for organising today, and to all the Blippers for the many laughs and good company.
