Today's the day ........................ for afternoon tea

Every time I have been to the little village of Tynron in the heart of Nithsdale, in Dumfries & Galloway, I have eaten well.

The last time, it was for a French lunch - to raise funds for its twinning association with a village in France.  I'm not sure what the money was going towards today, but afternoon tea was on offer from 2.00 pm until 4.00pm - and very nice it was too.  Tynron itself is a tiny, unspoilt village of listed cottages overlooked by a small, quirky kirk designed by William Burn in 1837.

It was  lovely day and the road over the hill from Moniaive offered wonderful views over the hills in this part of Dumfries and Galloway...................
