Sunshine Sunday....

A bit of rain last night so things slow to dry up despite the sunshine. Not a breath of air, which didn't help.
Not a good day cattle wise. A dead calf here, for no obvious reason , and a newly calved one dead at wee brothers, sheeted and not licked.
Went over to try and get her in after lunch with 2 bikes, but she had no intention of following the calf on a bit of string behind a bike. Tried rodeoing her but still no joy and she was getting to the wobbly stage so left her till tomorrow.
After numerous walks out to the field to test the barley , eventually bit the bullet and got the contractor to start at 4pm. Not pretty, coming in about 23% moisture, but at least it was coming in !
Had to call it a day at 7pm though because as soon as the sun went down behind the Pentland hills the dampness came down quickly.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow ( again ! )
