Radcot House

This is a beautiful rectangular pond within the grounds of Radcot House in Oxfordshire, which was open to the public today under the National Garden Scheme (NGS) scheme.

A fabulous garden packed with autumnal flowers and plants.

On the left of this image is a very old Medlar tree, perhaps 200 years old.

Radcot House itself was the focus of a Civil War siege, ended when a Parliamentary shell came through the roof and blew up the beer supply. The main part of the current house dates to 1648, but incorporates earlier elements.
