Off I Go!

I'm posting my blip (morning view from my back yard) early today because I'm about to pack up my computer and go on vacation.  In just about 12 hours I'll be catching a plane to Denver, Colorado, where I'll meet my very dear former son-in-law, Rob.  From Denver we're driving to Arches National Park in Utah, Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado, and then to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the International Hot Air Balloon Festival.   After that, we'll drive back to Rob's home in Bloomington, Indiana.  I'll fly home on October 19.  Rob and I always have such fun together and have talked about taking a road trip for a long time.  We've had memorable visits to Washington, DC and Boston in the past but we've never done a road trip.  We both love to meander rather than follow a straight route and we can very easily be diverted if something looks interesting enough to stop and investigate.  My husband and I always traveled that way, once taking an entire day to get from Cranston, Rhode Island, to Bennington, Vermont (less than 175 miles,) because we detoured so many times to look at "something interesting".  This trip is going to be a blipper's golden opportunity for spectacular blips.  The national parks alone will have gorgeous sights in every direction and then there'll be the hot air balloons......well, I just hope I'm up to the challenge.  I'll be posting as we go.  I'm taking a new camera which makes me just a bit nervous but I think I'm up to the challenge.  So, see you in Colorado tomorrow!
