Davaar Island Sunrise
13.5C with long sunny intervals and plenty of cloud. One or two short showers in the afternoon. Moderate SW/WSW/Westerly breeze.
Today was a relief after the torrential showers from yesterday that went on until about midnight. It was coming down in stair rods when we came out of the concert last night. Phil and Aly were on top form. The tunes were great and the stories they told in between were hilarious.
No Cal Mac ferry today, but Maeve the Deerhound and I went round to the old quay for our morning walk anyway. The passenger ferry to Ballycastle didn't go out today. There was a very nice sunrise. Hopefully there will be some more now the sun is lower in the sky in the mornings.
Salmon fish cakes from the fish shop today.
After lunch Maeve and I went for the repeat of our usual morning walking route across the road and round to the park and the harbour and back along through town.
Once Maeve was back home and settled I went for a walk. Of course I had Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham on the Clip (Portrait and The Best Of - the two CDs we bought last night in the interval). I went out Low Askomill to the old shipyard and kept going out the North shore path past Baraskomel farm and out as far as the gate on the last stretch to Macringan's point where I turned round and came back. Plenty of fishing boats today, all coming into Campbeltown loch.
On the way back I walked round the esplanade, had a wander round the harbour, and came back home through town.
Afternoon music ... Runrig, Mara and The Big Wheel.
