The Plough

I got up in the night. The moon was up. The Plough was out. We were to see it again inside the Arctic Circle with the Northern lights in just a few days.

We spent the day at our different activities having called in on T and S for a coffee. There was a strange valedictory feel to the day. Not only would be leaving Mull on the morrow but our new horizons were creeping ever nearer. There was also that looming sense of having to reconnect with a world that has changed so much in the last few months. It was nice to be so far from the TV and radio. Although I really enjoyed watching the first series of 'Shetland' on the laptop.

As the stars glittered the distant sshhh of the waves and the sigh of the wind in the fast drying leaves of the sycamore were all that were to be heard.
