Carrowmore Megalithic Tomb

An early start for the long drive to Sligo. Looking forward to a few days of hiking, archaeology and new landscapes and seascapes. It's been more than 25years since I visited this part of Ireland. ED is joining me so a chance to explore Sligo town while waiting for his train from Dublin.
We visited the extensive Neolithic landscape of Carrowmore before climbing Knocknarea mountain to see the legendary cairn of Queen Maeve.
We got soaked but the views were stunning from the top! A few extra pictures today.
