Contest

The Oban & Lorn Branch of the SNP are always imaginative and today they hosted a members day that had lots of interesting sessions and events including a final public session this afternoon on Brexit which was packed out.

The centre piece though was a hustings for the four candidates presently contesting the Depute Leader post. They were all excellent and the debate was a credit to the party and its mature consideration of the current extraordinary political scene.

The only dampener on the day was the weather - torrential rain for 24 hours led to the closure of the main road to Glasgow and meant a long drive round for Cathleen who came up in the evening from a wedding in the city as I was also undertaking some constituency meetings today and tomorrow will be on Seil & Easdale.
