Autumn Colour

Although the weather is steadily worsening and the rain is driving in, this splash of autumn colour caught my eye as I drove up the track towards the house this evening.

The bracken has now almost completely turned to brown and the rowans are slowly fading but together they make a striking contrast with the green which is itself giving way at the edges.

More leaves will have gone by tomorrow morning, blown down by the gale that is forecast.
