Blackening Richard (Day 501)

We were awake super early this morning, and I headed up the hill with the dogs whilst my beautiful wife got ready for work. I dropped the dogs at home then took Kayte to her work returning home for a little while before heading to Wasdale for another early walk with the dogs. Thankkfully the worst of the rain had gone and although it was a bit windy, the walk was pleasant enough.
I had a quick lunch then drove to town to take up my duties as a chauffeur for the afternoon. I was asked last night if I would drive the truck for my mate Richard's blackening. He marries the lovely Pam next week, and it is traditional that he is covered in molasses, flour, feathers and a few lentils as the prospective groom. Once covered, he is driven round the town on the back of a flat bed truck, whilst the crew who blackened him beat the sides of the truck with sticks and generally make a bit of a racket. We tied him to a tree for a bit, then everyone (except me) jumped in the harbour.
It is a fun way to spend an afternoon, and my knackered arm gave me an excuse to keep clean and take a couple of hundred pics of the fun.
We will meet up later for a few drinks.
